ABSTRACT
This talk presents research using data-driven approaches to advance sustainable and accessible urban mobility, focusing on emissions, equity, and the impact of shifting mobility patterns. Drawing on diverse contexts—from Helsinki to Chile—this work underscores the importance of location-specific mobility data, revealing how travel behaviors vary across urban environments. Studies on mobility during COVID-19 in Chile provide insights into the effects of disruptions on commuting patterns. Additionally, the current project, MAPICO, aims to map commute-related carbon emissions in the Nordics, delivering results at a high spatial resolution to inform and guide sustainable transitions in various cities.
