1-year PostDoc contract at ISI Foundation in designing synthetic populations for epidemic modelling of infectious diseases
Opportunity for a post-doctoral research associate to join our multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the design of national synthetic populations and multi-scale epidemic modelling.

Requirements
The candidate must:
- Have already obtained (or be close to defend) the PhD title in a discipline among Physics, Physics of Complex Systems, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics and Statistics;
- Have a strong academic background of publications in international scientific journals
- Be fluent in English, both written and spoken
Preference will be devoted to candidates with proved experience in:
– Spatial analysis, GIS, human mobility modeling
- Epidemic modelling, such as compartmental models and epidemiological data analysis
- Mobility and demographic data treatment, e.g. mobile phone data, census data, surveys
- Programming in Python or in alternative with R and C++
The candidate is expected to start working in the month of January, with some flexibility on the exact starting date.
Benefits
The salary rounds the 1900 euros after taxes per month and medical and pension benefits according to the Italian state. Initial appointment will be for a period of 1 year, with the possibility of renewal.
Premises of ISI Foundation are available to work full in person in via Chisola 5, Torino.
Partial remote working plans are allowed and can be discussed further.
The researcher will have the opportunity, if desired, to participate in different parallel projects or supervise predoctoral students on side projects.
