The 20th Conference on Complex Systems (CCS2024) is the leading annual event of the complex systems research community, organized by the Complex Systems Society. This special anniversary edition is co-hosted by Northeastern University London and the University of Exeter.
Our ISI researchers will be participating in CCS2024 presenting on topics spanning machine learning for social good, socioeconomic determinants of contacts relevant to infectious diseases, and human mobility modeling.
Presentations:
- K. Kalimeri: “Machine Learning for Social Good: Algorithmic & Data Challenges when working with Vulnerable Populations”
- M. Tizzani: “Socioeconomic Determinants of Contact Patterns”
- M. Mazzoli: “A Generalized Vector-Field Framework for Mobility”
Additionally, ISI researchers will contribute to the organization of two satellite sessions on September 2nd:
- CS4V24 – Complex Systems for the Most Vulnerable: This satellite, co-organized by ISI Senior Scientist Daniela Paolotti, aims to showcase the most relevant work from the Complex Systems community related to the pressing issues affecting the most vulnerable populations.
- UrbanSys2024 – Transport, Smart Cities, Complexity and Urban Networks: UrbanSys2024, co-organized by ISI Researcher Mattia Mazzoli, invites studies on cities as complex systems, covering topics such as mobility, accessibility, inequality, and scaling laws. This satellite focuses on how data-driven approaches can help model and gain insight into urban systems, from individual behavior to the evolution of entire cities.
