Algorithmic Data Analytics

Research Area Coordinator
Francesco Bonchi

Dealing with the Big Data revolution does not only require new computational paradigms and platforms: due to the semantic richness of the data, its dynamicity and streaming nature, and the expressiveness of the new patterns sought, classic data mining algorithms are often not adequate. The mission of the Algorithmic Data Analytics group is to develop novel algorithms and multidisciplinary methods to analyze very large data, gaining new insights and actionable knowledge that can be exploited for innovative applications. In this regard, the activity of the Algorithmic Data Analytics group can be seen as transversal and orthogonal to the other lines of research at ISI foundation, as part of the group mission is to help the other vertical projects with the new algorithmic challenges they might face.
