Human Mobility, Social Media Signals and Digital Health: Ciro Cattuto and Yelena Mejova at the Symposium on Digital Demography in Rostock

ISI Foundation Scientific Director Ciro Cattuto and ISI Research Leader Yelena Mejova are invited speakers at the first Symposium on Digital Demography, organized and hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany. The event is bringing together prominent scholars in Demography, Sociology, and Computational Social Sciences, discussing new directions and latest advances in an emerging field that uses data collection in order to measure and predict demographic change and studies the implications of the digital revolution for demographic behavior.

Cattuto and Mejova will join the Digital Health opening session, chaired by André Grow (MPIDR), Wednesday October 17 at 9.30. Cattuto will speak about «High-Resolution Human Mobility: from Face-to-Face Interactions to the Urban Scale», while Mejova is presenting a talk about «Capturing Social Media Signals for Health Research». The Rostock symposium marks the launch of the new MPIDR Lab on Digital and Computational Demography, headed by director Emilio Zagheni.
