Data Science for Social Good Workshop

Originally set  in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, in the heart of Europe, inside the program  of the Web Conference 2021, the Data Science for Social Good workshop developed as a series of online Zoom presentations, with participants joining from home.
Co-organized by ISI Foundation researchers Daniela Paolotti, Ciro Cattuto and Elisa Omodei, World Food Programme, Rome, Italy
the workshop will review the potential and emerging field of data science for good – as well as how to develop new partnerships for the data age (Data Collaboratives) to unlock both data and data science capabilities.

Program included a keynote talk by Laura McGorman (Global Policy Lead for Facebook’s Data for Good Portfolio), JoAnn Stonier (Mastercard Chief Data Officer) and Stefaan Verhulst ( Co-Founder and Chief Research and Development Officer of the Governance Laboratory) and multidisciplinary presentations on several fields strongly involving data and data science, like transportation, urban mobility, information and Artificial Intelligence.
