“Adaptive Community Search in Dynamic Networks”, a presentation at IEEE BigData 2020

Big Data is transforming science, engineering, medicine, healthcare, finance, business, and ultimately our society itself. IEEE BigData is one of the main international conferences focused on the latest results in Big Data research, development, and applications. This year's edition will be online, from December 10 to December 13.

ISI Foundation Scientific Director Francesco Bonchi will join the IEEE Big Data 2020 with the new paper “Adaptive Community Search in Dynamic Networks” , co-authored with Ricardo Baeza-Yates (Northeastern University, ISI Scientific Advisory Board) and Ioanna Tsalouchidou (Pompeu Fabra University, who will present it during the Graph Mining and Embedding session, Sunday 13th December, 10.15-12.20, US Eastern Standard Time).

In the paper researchers address the problem of community search in temporal dynamics networks, a largely unexplored variant of a fundamental graph mining primitive, and propose the problem of extracting the minimum temporal-inefficiency subgraph. A first step in the study of problems that are going to receive more foundational treatment and will find more applications in the coming years.
